One of the culture's literary pioneers shares her journey with the world. dream hampton released the trailer of her new documentary, It was all a dream.
As is mentioned exclusively with Variety, the esteemed author goes into her personal archives for her newest effort. This week, Hampton released the trailer for her upcoming film, and she makes it clear that she was really moving and shaking in Rap's golden age. The 90-second clip features footage of her interacting with the likes of the late Notorious BIG, Method Man, Snoop Dogg, Q-Tip, Ice-T, Mobb Deep and more.
In it each piece of archival material is narrated in relation to the original writing work that featured the respective talent. Hampton explained how the project came about in an official statement. “Last summer, I moved my daughter across the country and I found two boxes of footage that I forgot I had and spent the last few months making this film,” he explained. He would also reveal that Notorious BIG's son CJ Wallace was the first person to see the film and encouraged him to become one of the executive producers. “I named it It was all a dream not because of my name or 'Juicy', but because of the golden mist that has enveloped this season.”
