Rivers Cuomo has hinted at big touring plans for Weezer in honor of the upcoming 30th anniversary of their debut LP. He Blue album.
Weezer, in particular, did not celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album, which originally came out in 1994. But now, Cuomo in particular seems determined to give her flowers, according to a new interview with Collider: “We're going to give it due respect and release a really amazing deluxe package with a ton of bonus material and of course we have to do some kind of epic tour,” he said.
Weezer already have some tour dates booked for the new year, including some co-headlining UK dates with Smashing Pumpkins (for which you can get tickets at Viagogo) and an appearance at the Shaky Knees Festival. Cuomo not-so-subtly hinted that there will be more shows to come: “There's a very suspicious blank spot on our calendar for months after that, so I'll keep an eye on it.”
