Sad news is coming from the sneaker community as well-known celebrity sneaker reseller Javier Osorio-Mejia from Bayonne, NJ was reportedly shot and killed on Tuesday (June 25th) in a botched robbery attempt in New York City.
According Fox5NY, the shooting occurred around 5:15 a.m. on Greene Street in Soho and although it appears that an attempted robbery went wrong, the men who arrested Meija shot him and fled without taking any money or his brand new Range Rover. left behind on the spot. Javier Osorio-Mejia was reportedly shot three times in the right leg before being rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he died.
Known for selling exclusive high-end sneakers to celebrities and everyday sneakerheads alike, Meija has built a name for himself over the years in the sneaker community, so when news of his firing hit the internet, many eyebrows were raised and hearts cracked.

NYPD detectives and crime scene investigators spent many hours going to the scene looking for evidence. sources said FOX 5 NY's Significant ballistics evidence of Lisa Evers was recovered from the apparent ambush.
Detectives also discovered cash left on the ground, along with the victim's trademark Nike sneakers.
“I'm just devastated and I want everyone to know that he was a good man. He was not involved in any foul play, he was a humble guy, he helped a lot of people,” said one of Osorio-Mejia's friends.
No arrests have been made. The motive behind the shooting was unknown at the time.
As the detectives continued their work, friends gathered to mourn the loss of an up-and-coming businessman and support each other.
When news of his death hit social media, many of Meija's friends and colleagues in the sneaker community took to his last post to express their love and condolences as he was loved by many in the game.
