Sabrina Carpenter stopped by the BBC Radio 1 lounge today to perform her new song, “Why Please Please,” as well as a cover of “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan.
The performance took place today and featured a different arrangement to Chappell's original. Sabrina Carpenter began the song with a country arrangement, slowing down the first verse and chorus, adding pedal steel and acoustic guitar, and performing the song as a heartfelt ballad. However, when the second verse arrives, Carpenter revives Chappell Roan's original tempo and keeps the performance just as bright and bubbly. Listen to Carpenter's rendition of “Good Luck, Babe!” below.
Carpenter is currently preparing for release. short and sweet, her sixth album and second since signing with Island Records, on August 23. He previewed the album before Coachella in April with the release of the infectious “Espresso,” which made our list of the best songs of 2024 so far, as well as this month’s “Why Please Please.”
Chappell Roan, on the other hand, just wrapped up the second leg of his “Midwestern Princess” tour with a packed show at Bonnaroo and is gearing up for a few more festival appearances throughout the year.
