“I called it Short n' Sweet for many reasons. It wasn't because I'm vertically challenged. It was really like I thought about some of those relationships and how some of them were the shortest I've ever had and affected me the most,” he told Apple Music's Zane Lowe about the project. “I think about how I respond to situations, and sometimes it's very nice and sometimes it's not very nice. Again, the thing about albums, projects, songwriting, it's all moments. So much harder for others to understand that when they hear something that will probably pass them years, hopefully many years, is that I'm not the same person I was when I wrote it. ”
