Six months after hundreds of Nova Music festival goers were murdered, the remains left behind are on display in New York as part of a harrowing exhibition called The Nova Music festival Exhibition: October 7 06:29 am. Billboard News interviewed some survivors at the exhibit ahead of its April 21 opening.
Scooter Braun:
This could have been any festival in the world, and so much has been done there that people don't understand what happened here.
Ofir Amir:
We want to show the world that we are strong and we will unite.
Daniel Dvir:
Music is my life. Music is everything to me. I was at Nova festival on October 7th. It was Friday night, I went with some friends to the Nova festival in Israel — it was a holiday for us. And we went to celebrate, to celebrate life, to celebrate music.
Li Shashi:
I went to Israel on vacation and it was going to be my first party in nature. So I went with my family members, we were a group of seven people. And we all had the best night. Everyone was so friendly to each other, they even talked to you as if we all knew each other. But actually, we didn't. And the music was wonderful and impressive.
Natalie Sanandaji:
Me and three friends arrived at the festival around 1am. Around 3, we decided to rest at our campsite, which is right next to the track. You can still hear the music. And we decided to rest and wake up for sunset, which is supposed to be the best part of the festival. And instead of waking up to the sound of sunrise, we woke up to the sound of rockets.
Daniel Dvir:
Thousands of rockets above our heads, suddenly turning off the music.
