Oasis' Liam Gallagher teases the possibility of new music from the newly reunited Britpop band.
On Friday (September 6), an Oasis fan asked X (formerly Twitter) if rumors that Liam and his brother Noel were planning to release a new album were true after announcing that the UK band would be reuniting for a series of concerts in 2025.
“Yeah, it's already over,” Noel replied. When asked another fan if a new album was “in the air,” the 51-year-old singer-songwriter wrote, “It's in the bag mate f— the air.” And one word to describe the supposed album? “TURDOS,” he added.
It's not the first time Liam has hinted at the possibility of a new Oasis album. Earlier this year, the musician recommended to X that a new Oasis project would arrive in November. His tweet arrived around the same time Noel announced he was album-and-wants-to-do-a-defiant-rock-record-3613651″ rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>dropping a solo acoustic album in favor of a more “provocative rock album“.
Oasis' seventh and final album, Unearth your soulpeaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in October 2008.
On August 27th, Oasis officially announced that the reunited band will hit the road in 2025 for a string of dates across the British Isles, including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, for their “only European shows next year .”
The Gallagher brothers have also promised an extensive international tour in the near future. “Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE '25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year,” a statement said.
Oasis broke up in 2009 after years of huge chart success and tabloid headlines in the UK linked the Gallagher brothers' fierce rivalry, with main songwriter older brother Noel leaving the band after a behind-the-scenes battle with Liam at a show near Paris that year. The brothers have not performed live since, although they often play Oasis songs during their solo concerts and with their side bands and, until the reunion announcement, continued to bash each other online and in the press.
