Seth Rogen admits Drake lost the battle to Kendrick Lamar.
During his Seth Smokes the Bowl benefit show at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday (May 7), the comedian tried to explain the ongoing beef that has taken over the rap world over the last month or so. “There are two very famous rappers right now in Drake and Kendrick Lamar and they're fighting right now,” he said in a fan-captured video. He went on to describe how rappers fight jokingly: “They write nasty rhymes about each other, which is an objectively funny way to fight with another person.”
Rogen then began going through the crowd about how this back-and-forth “started slow” with Drake boasting “you ain't as successful as me” on “Push Ups” and Kendrick responding, “I hate the way where are you dressing, man” “Euphoria.” Then he got to the flake, warning the crowd that the infighting “didn't stop there,” explaining the meaning of “Meet the Grahams,” paraphrasing Lamar's lyrics: “You're a bad father and you should be a registered sex offender. ”
The Pineapple Express The star then went on to say that Kendrick's claims caught Drake “off guard” and forced him to sound defensive, while pointing out how “you don't hear defensive rap that often… just stating in a rap song that you shouldn't be a registered sex offender , you lost the rap battle.”
Seth Rogen knowing the basic concept and rules of battle rap is pretty impressive. Watch the full clip below.
