Sexyy Red hits back at rumors of low ticket sales for her upcoming album Sexyy Red 4 President tour.
The “Pound Town” rapper took to X on Monday (July 8) to address reports of poor ticket sales. “My fans are buying tickets, we're doing fine. We are not canceling any tours,” she wrote in response to a post suggesting her tour was in jeopardy.
Browsing data reported on July 3 that 37.11% of tickets for the 24-date trip had been sold, with 85,217 still available. However, the St. Louis native dismissed the notion that those figures indicate trouble.
“See how dey tryin' to make you with an independent promoter and the bigger companies tryin' to sabotage you,” he explained to another post, referring to her partnership with AG Entertainment. “We're not canceling sht.”
The 26-year-old artist ended by blaming some social media pages for spreading misinformation: “I made a deal for my tour with a black owned black promoter AG Entertainment and now dey play dirty pay pages spreading fake news to discourage my fans to buy tickets. .”
The rapper has impacted the Billboard Hot 100 with several hit singles lately. Sexyy Red's latest single “Get It Sexyy” marked her highest solo entry, debuting at No. 23 and peaking at No. 20 on the Hot 100 while also entering the Global 200.
Her track “Pound Town” peaked at No. 66. After that, “SkeeYee” peaked at No. 62. In addition, her collaboration with Nicki Minaj on the remix of “Pound Town 2” was a major hit, also reaching at No. 66 and getting heavy rotation on radio and streaming platforms.
