Sir Elton John has a Christmas banquet cooked by celebrity chef Massimo Bottura.
The 'Rocketman' singer, 76, is resting up after recently retiring following his epic 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour, but will apparently treat himself to the feast later this month while playing a gig in Venice.
Massimo, 61, told the 'Dish' podcast: 'This Christmas, on the 19th of December, I have to cook Christmas dinner in Venice, at the Venice Theatre, because it's going to be a big Elton John concert.
“You know, it's really, his dream was like cooking, uh, playing La Fenice, you know, like… after the restoration.
“It's going to be a big party and you know – they're asking me to cook like Christmas, like with tortellini, ham, lenticchie, everything.
“Well he'll be there.”
Massimo owns the triple Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana, No.1 in the 'World's 50 Best Restaurants' and has been described by UK GQ as a 'culinary iconoclast'.
He has partnered with another Italian titan, Gucci, to create the Gucci Osteria chain of restaurants located in the world's most iconic cities.
Massimo also discussed on “Dish” how despite his experience he hates cooking on Christmas Day.
He also revealed his favorite food cities in the world, including London, New York and Tokyo, and talked about how to make the perfect cappuccino.
Series 4 of “Dish” from Waitrose, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, is now available on all podcast providers.
