Slash has released his new blues album, Orgy of the damnedwith contributions from Demi Lovato, Iggy Pop, AC/DC's Brian Johnson, Chris Stapleton, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and more.
In addition to the release of the new album today (May 17), Slash revealed the music video for his cover of The Temptations' “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” featuring Lovato's powerful vocals. The song is the third single from the LP, following a cover of Howlin' Wolf's “Killing Floor” (with Johnson on vocals and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler on harmonica) and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's “Oh Well” (with Stapleton).

Another highlight of the album is a performance of Lightnin' Hopkins' “Awful Dream” featuring lead vocals from the godfather of punk himself, Iggy Pop. “Iggy came to my studio in Los Angeles and we sat down, he was on a stool and I on another one, and I asked my man, Michael Jerome, to come in and play drums, and we took the tape live. ” Slash said of the track. “So, it's really cool and spontaneous. “Iggy’s interpretation of that song is truly sublime.”
Slash will support the album with his traveling blues festival “SERPENT,” kicking off in early July. He will be accompanied on the six-week excursion by the Warren Haynes Band, Keb'' Mo, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Randolph, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, ZZ Ward and more. Fans can also catch Slash performing in Jimmy Kimmel live! next Monday (May 20) through Wednesday (May 22), when he sits in with late-night show house band Cleto & the Cletones.
