A week after sharing the tragic news of the passing of his late stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight, Slash wrote a heartfelt tribute via Instagram.
The guitarist posted the following message along with a photo of Knight:
“My heart is forever broken. I will never stop missing you and remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity and beauty you always were and continue to be. The brightest light in the lives of so many people who loved you so much. I find comfort in the hope that you are now at peace. I love you forever. #LBK.”
Lucy-Bleu Knight tragically passed away on July 19 at the age of 25. She was the daughter of Mark Knight and Slash's current partner, Meegan Hodges.
Many of Slash's friends and colleagues commented on his tribute post on Instagramoffering condolences and words of support.
Lenny Kravitz wrote: “My condolences bro. And yes, still are! All my love to the family.”
Tom Morello commented: “Oh, I'm so sorry my friend. Sending all my love to you and your family.”
Chris Daughtry wrote: “I’m so sorry bro. This is heartbreaking. Sending you all my love.”
Twelve hours before revealing the news of Lucy-Bleu’s passing, Slash had announced the cancellation of four shows on his SERPENT blues festival tour due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The tour resumed in Toronto on Sunday (July 28) and the tour continues on Wednesday (July 30) with a show in Lewiston, New York.
