Songwriter Madison Love, director Ang Lee and actor Corey Stoll will be honored by New York University's Tisch School of the Arts on Monday, April 8 at Cipriani South Street in New York City. Love, 28, is the first graduate of the NYU Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at Tisch to be honored at the Tisch Gala.
The recognition comes on the 40th anniversary of Lee's graduation from Tisch and the 20th anniversary of the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, from which Love graduated in 2017.
Henry Russell Walter, better known as Cirkut, the Grammy-winning producer and songwriter, is also scheduled to perform at the event. He produced Ava Max's recording of “Sweet but Psycho,” a Billboard Hot 100 hit, which Love wrote.
Love has co-written several songs Max has recorded, including “Kings & Queens” and “Choose Your Fighter”. The latter song appeared on the hit soundtrack Barbie: The albumwhich reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last year.
Many of Love's other hits include “Bad Things” by Machine Gun Kelly and Camila Cabello. “Him & I” by G-Eazy and Halsey. “Rare” by Selena Gomez. “Not the End of the World” by Katy Perry. and Sour Candy” by Lady Gaga with Blackpink.
Lee is a two-time Academy Award winner for Best Director, for Brokeback Mountain (2004) and Life of Pi (2011).
