Sophie Turner is currently in negotiations to play adventurous archaeologist Lara Croft in the tomb Raider series by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, according to Deadline.
Turner was reportedly among the top candidates tested for the video game adaptation, which will air on main video. The 2001 and 2018 films in the franchise starred Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, respectively, as Lara Croft.
tomb Raider will be produced by video game studio Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios, with Waller-Bridge serving as writer and executive producer.
“If I could tell my teenage self that this was happening, I think she would explode,” Waller-Bridge previously said in a statement. “Lara Croft means a lot to me, as it does to many, and I can't wait to embark on this adventure. Bats and everything.”
The series is part of Waller-Bridge's renewed three-year deal with Amazon. Turner, of course, is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in game of Thrones. He currently stars in the lead role of the British crime drama. Joan and will also headline the Prime Video series, Shelter.
