Sphere Entertainment announced on Monday that it has acquired all of the remaining shares it did not previously hold in Holoplot GmbH, a Berlin-based global leader in 3D audio technology.
Sphere first invested in Holoplot in 2018 when the two companies collaborated to develop Sphere Immersive Sound, powered by Holoplot, a speaker technology that uses 3D sound beamforming and wavefield synthesis to deliver crystal clear, personalized sound in every seat. The Sphere when it opened in Las Vegas in September 2023 with U2.
Holoplot will remain based in Berlin and operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sphere Entertainment as it continues to grow its business and serve its clients and customers. The Sphere is currently hosting Dead and Company at their Las Vegas venue.
