This is the 3rd full length LP from Tucson, Arizona recording artist Stacc Styles. As the founder of Dope Shop Records, he was introduced in the spring of 2015 by the debut album Inside the Ride followed by the sophomore effort Mr. Porphyra in the fall of 2020. Stacc has also been a subsidiary of Suburban Noize Records dating back to his days as a roadie for punk band Mower, eventually signing to the underground west coast label this past January. 4 singles later, summer kicks off and warms everyone up for the 2nd half of 2024, encouraging them to Live Your Best Life.
After the turntable intro, the title track sets the tone for Stacc's Subnoize debut with a psychedelic West Coast hip-hop banger that wants to have a good time and get high, while “Another Day” works on talking pianos for us who had to be here to complete the sacred circle. “Gold Mine” has a bit of a funky pop rap glow with themes of romance, but then one of the 3 founding members of the Kottonmouth Kings and the other half of Kingspade himself Johnny Richter now a member of the super trio King Klick returns to the superior “Leave with a King » jumping over a shrill vocal sample to steal bitches.
“In the Mood” goes the trap-vibe route, organically pulling the plug for late night just before the “Weed, Wax & Whiskey” celebration of all things cannabis reminding friends and family that he's lost addiction or suicide recapturing the vintage Suburban Noize sound in the process while continuing the legacy of KMK and the memory of late original member Saint Dog. “Renegade” featuring Obnoxious also by King Klick along with combative rapper YNOT finds the trio humming the night away with smooth boom bap production leading into “DGAF Nonstop” featuring DGAF General Chucky Chuck who is now part of the newly reformed Kottonmouth Kings pays homage to the latter's DGAF roots.
Slumerican Records signee and Yelawolf's longtime high school friend Big Henri joins Stacc on the country trap fusion 'Keep Going' giving an inspirational message while 'Sometimes Why' keeps the guitars and hi-hats thanking God who is here to see another day. After the “Staccs” outro, we have a remix of “Without a Crown” featuring Lethal Injektion frontman Jon Russell as a bonus track that surpasses the standalone single released 2.5 years ago since it was built around the rap metal sound. for which the Tucson nu metal band is known.
When you consider how the guy went from being a Suburban Noize fan to the Mower connection in 2005 and now officially releasing his own music through the label, I'd say this should be a dream come true and a full circle moment for him in his career. His unique blend of THC-infused hip-hop and the technical precision of his trademark high-speed rap that his first two independently released albums elevated to higher levels by keeping the essence of Subnoize alive with the help of King Klick individually and some out collaborators.
