Steve Nicks has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac is officially disbanded for good, explaining that following the death of Christine McVie in 2022, “there is no chance of getting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. “Without it, I just couldn’t function.”
Nicks and his Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mick Fleetwood have expressed similar sentiments since McVie's tragic passing from a stroke on November 30, 2022. However, in a new interview with mojoNicks made his most explicit proclamation to date: “Without Christine [McVie]It can not be done.”

Nicks also noted that Lindsey Buckingham, who left the band in 2018 after the two fell out, has been dealing with her own health issues. Even if the two reconciled, she doubts he could “do the kind of tour that Fleetwood Mac does, where you go out for a year and a half. It is very demanding”.
As such, Nicks said she is happy to be traveling solo and intends to celebrate Fleetwood Mac's legacy on her own. “Fleetwood Mac is all over my set… I will keep the music of Fleetwood Mac alive as long as I can,” she promised.
Speaking of which, Nicks will wrap up his final slate of US shows this week, including a co-headline date at Chicago's Soldier Field with Billy Joel, before embarking on a run of shows in the UK and Europe in July. Get tickets to their upcoming concerts here..
