Way out West, a music festival based in Sweden, has added a new stage for… sperm and eggs?
In some ways, it's true. The festival will be setting up an IVF lab specifically for the sperm and egg fertilisation process. Designed by Love Hultén, headline performances by artists such as Fred again.., Peggy Gou, Queens of the Stone Age and Pulp will be streamed into the lab for the listening pleasure of sperm and eggs.

The festival cites a Spanish study The festival has released a study by the Institut Marquès suggesting that music and vibes increase the chances of IVF success by five per cent as the reason behind this crazy decision. However, they also acknowledge that it is absurd. “Above all, we are doing this as a fun idea to highlight the importance of a vibrant live music scene, and the studies are used more as a creative perspective than scientific evidence,” the festival said in a statement.
However, for fully-grown human attendees, Way out West will offer three days of music (also performed by fully-grown humans) from August 8-10. In addition to the acts mentioned above, featured artists include PJ Harvey, The National, Big Thief, The Smile, André 3000, Fever Ray, and Tems. Also coming to the festival are a host of other artists. Consequence favorites like Slowdive, Wednesday, Blondshell and Yves Tumor, among others.
