SZA Is Not Happy With Fans Who Apparently Leaked Several Songs From Her Upcoming Deluxe Edition warning signwith Title Wool. Earlier this week, in a now-deleted tweet, the rapper wrote: “Everyone leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, you can all keep the waste and spills. I'll start “Lana” from the beginning. Don't ask me about that again.''
Last night, SZA addressed the matter further in a series of tweets, confirming the deluxe version of warning sign it will now show “the leaks and outlets” and Wool it will be his thing. “Wool deserves more time and music no one has ever heard before,” he wrote.
The musician called out a fan, named Janessa, who leaked “unreleased photos and audio” and noted, “Because it's physical Wool this prompted me to make a decision. I decided that all the leaks and not knowing what someone has or doesn't have is too complicated so I should just consolidate the leaks and explosions and leave it at that so as not to prolong the process and then focus on my next project as a win win for all”.
He added, “And please be clear, anyone who defends a thief is weird. I don't come to your job and take shit and skip your job. Why should it be okay? Where is the home workout? No one wants to chase a young woman. We've all been asking very nicely for quite some time now.”
SZA is out warning sign, her second studio album, in 2022, winning nine Grammy Awards and earning three of the nominations, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Progressive R&B album and Best R&B Song. She announced Wool as a reissue of the LP last year, revealing six cover art variations and releasing the single “Saturn” last month.
Last year, SZA said Variety that Wool had grown into “more than he expected.” “It's definitely turning into its own album and I guess I could put out a new album randomly because nobody expects that from me right now,” he explained. “But I can't tell if now is the time to be consistent or careless. On the one hand it's like, “What would Beyoncé do?” But I'm also deeply inspired by people who do whatever they want, like Frank Ocean and Andre 3000. Some of my favorite songs were the ones I put on SoundCloud because it was so stress-free.”
This isn't the first time SZA has dealt with fans leaking her music. In January, he threatened legal action, writing: “Leaking my music is theft. This is my job. This is my life and my intellectual property. You are a fucking thief and I promise to do my utmost to hold everyone accountable to the fullest extent of the law. I'm tired.”
