The singer recently resumed her career-spanning tour with the addition of an all-new section featuring new music, choreography and costumes from her latest album Department of Tormented Poets
The Eras tour has been revived and reshaped as Taylor Swift continues her career-spanning show with her European leg. Some seasons — incl Lover and Folklore — had songs cut from their respective sections, while others were shifted, such as Red is transferred to immediately follow Fearless where Speak now once was. All this shifting, scootering and wringing was done to make room for a new section Department of Tormented Poetsor as Swift called it: “Female Rage the Musical.”
“This post is dedicated to the new Tormented Poets leg of the Eras tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical,” Swift wrote on Instagram after wrapping up a four-day run in Paris.
The new section of the set includes Department of Tormented Poets songs “But Daddy I Love Him”, “So High School”, “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart”, “Who's Afraid of Little Old Me” and a mashup of “Down Bad” and “Fortnight”. The singer-songwriter also began incorporating songs from the 31-song double album into the surprise track of the show. On Friday, he delivered the debut performance “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys.”
In addition to female rage, the new era ushered in new costumes and choreography, highlighted in Swift's celebratory post. “To my crew, my fellow performers and the band who worked tirelessly on their hiatus to come up with this surprise for you — but most of all for the fans in Paris,” she continued in her dedication. “I'm so grateful that we showed it to you for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion and love. I am SO excited to play it for every crowd on tour. See you very soon, Stockholm.”
Swift revealed to her audience in Paris that Department of Tormented Poets formed during a previous tour break. “When we had a 2-month break, we really didn't take time off,” she said. The singer's tour schedule for the rest of May includes stops in Lisbon and Madrid.
