Once upon a time, Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed her mind. Almost 20 years later, she is about to become a mom, which she announced through her Instagram on Wednesday borrowing the perfect verse from her best friend Taylor Swift.
Sharing a photo of her baby bump – which she accessorized with a half-open button-up shirt and a box of Cheez-Its – Abigail Anderson revealed her pregnancy to followers by simply writing, “I'm having his babyyyy…” alongside a blue emoji heart.
The Tennessee resident married husband Charles Berard in 2022. This is the couple's first child together.
The phrase in Anderson's caption is a reference to Swift's caption Department of Tormented Poets anthem “But Daddy I Love Him,” in which the pop star sings, “Now I'm running with my dress unbuttoned/ Screaming 'But Daddy, I love him!'/ I'm having his baby/ No, I'm not, but you gotta see the in your face.”
Shortly after the post was posted, Swift joined several other friends in congratulating her bestie, whom she met when they were both teenagers living in the Nashville, Tennessee area. “When the internet says 'MOM' I feel like this photo is actually what they mean,” she wrote in the replies.
Keleigh Teller also commented, “Aww congrats,” while Blake Lively wrote, “Omg congratsssss!!!!”
Many of the other well-wishers in Anderson's place were Swifties, who have been keeping up with the tech-savvy executive ever since the 14-time Grammy winner gave her a shout-out at Fearless “Fifteen” single. “You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail/ And soon you're best friends,” Swift recalls on the track. “Laughing with the other girls/ Who think they're so cool/ We'll get out of here as soon as possible.”
“Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed her mind,” she sings at another point in the song. “And we both cried/ Because when you're fifteen/ And someone tells you they love you/ You'll believe them.”
Anderson has also been a staunch supporter of Swift throughout the singer's career, from attending the Grammys with her best man in 2015 to posting praise for her music on Instagram. Most recently, the musician dedicated an Eras tour acoustic performance of “Fifteen” to her “beautiful, redheaded high school best friend,” who was in attendance that night at Nashville's Nissan Stadium.
