The FX series, The Bear, has been renewed for a fourth season, set to be filmed back-to-back with the previously-announced third season. Production is currently underway in Chicago.
The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter, who confirmed the series’ continuation, though they noted that FX declined comment. The move to film the seasons back-to-back was made in an effort to keep the show on an annual release schedule, “as the cast and creatives continue to line their calendars with feature work as a result of the show’s widespread success,” according to THR.
Since premiering in 2022, the show has become quite a success, winning many awards and earning the No. 2 spot on Consequence’s rundown of the best TV shows of 2023. Its stars, Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, have each earned Emmys, and concurrently have bookings coming up, like Edebiri’s role in Inside Out 2 and Moss-Bachrach’s part in Marvel’s Fantastic Four.
Season 3 of The Bear is due in June 2024, and will arrive as a binge release, as FX’s John Landgraf says it always will. Past seasons of the show are currently available to stream in full on Hulu (subscribe here).
