One night we were working here at Sunset and there was a very rare record that Dan wanted on eBay.

I had been waiting a year and a half to get it.
Patrick Carney:
He didn't know that I knew it was on eBay and there were three minutes left and the price started going up. I felt like watching him sweat because-
Dan Auerbach:
He was behind me laughing. He didn't know what he was laughing at and it was scaring me because someone else was bidding so much on this. I've been waiting like six days for this auction.

So this is your twelfth album, obviously a long road to get here. Do you have any rituals before releasing an album right now? Or does everything feel the same?
Patrick Carney:
I heard Chris Martin likes… when he gets ready to write, he likes to isolate himself and read all the bad reviews.
