The Kickoff Jam country music festival, which was set to feature headliners Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and Alabama, has been canceled. The festival was set to take place Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, Fla.
“After the success of the Gulf Coast Jam [held May 30-June 2] this past weekend in Panama City Beach, we realized that the weekend after Memorial Day is a much better time to host a festival,” Kickoff Jam producers said in a post on festival page on Instagram. “Well, we're going to cancel the Kickoff Jam and issue refunds.”
The three-day festival was to be hosted by media personality Storm Warren. Friday's lineup was set to include eight-time Grammy winner Underwood, Needtobreathe, Lauren Alaina, Restless Road, Carter Faith and Kayley Green. Saturday night's lineup, headlined by Country Music Hall of Famer Brooks, was also set to include Randy Houser, the Oak Ridge Boys, Rhett Akins, Mackenzie Carpenter and Allie Colleen. Sunday night's lineup was set to include two-time Grammy winners Alabama, with a special appearance by Randy Travis, along with openers Jamey Johnson, Tyler Farr, Gavin Adcock, Pam Tillis and Catie Offerman.
When the festival was announced in mid-April, festival executive producer Rendy Lovelady said in a statement, “I've been doing this for 40 years and without a doubt, this is the biggest show we've ever done. We are excited to celebrate five decades of country music in Panama Beach!”
