It's hard not to feel sure when Taylor Swift it's in your corner. After opening for the pop star for one leg of her Eras tour last year, the Girl in Red says she feels more confident in her abilities than ever, and that's in large part thanks to the “Anti-Hero” singer's support.
One of Ella2024's three rising music stars alongside Tate McRae and Tyla, Norwegian musician Marie Ulven opened up about her growth as an artist and performer in a video posted on Wednesday (May 1). “The biggest obstacle, historically, has been my anxiety,” she told the publication. Because of that, I was like, “I can't be in a scene again.”
Flash forward to the summer of 2023, and suddenly the “We Fell in Love in October” singer was playing stadiums on a nightly basis, warming up crowds across the United States for the three-hour main event. “After the tour with Taylor, he'd introduce the openers and then he'd say, 'Give it up for Girl in Red, which are crushed this!” Ulven recalled. “So I said, 'You know what? I think I know what I'm doing.”
Ulven is fresh off the release of her second album I'm doing it again baby!, which debuted at No. 183 on the Billboard 200. It includes the single “You Need Me Now?” with Eras tour colleague Sabrina Carpenter.
In a March interview with Advertising signUlven revealed that Swift's dedication to songwriting and touring greatly inspired her while making Doing it again. “My new thing is I'll be like, 'What would Taylor do?' because I'm so inspired by her work ethic,” she said. “We're not complaining, we're just finishing.”
