After a four-year break, Nathy Peluso returns with her new album, Fat. She talks about summarizing her growth from her 20s to her 30s, how her father inspired the title, her various collaborations including Blood Orange, Ca7riel, Paco Amoroso and more.
Isabela Raygoza:
You play the guitar too, right?
Nathy Peluso:
Yes, but with these nails it is impossible. When I go to the studio, I cut them.
Isabela Raygoza:
I was looking at your nails and how beautiful they look.
Nathy Peluso:
So fat, so red.
Isabela Raygoza:
They are fats.
Nathy Peluso:
Yes, fat!
Isabela Raygoza:
I'm using the word too.
Nathy Peluso:
Hi, I'm Nathy Peluso and I'm Billboard News.
Isabela Raygoza:
Thanks for coming. We saw that you were invited to Karol G's tour. That was incredible.
Nathy Peluso:
She is very generous, she invited me to play in Buenos Aires, which means a lot to me. That was the first time we sang “Gato Malo,” which is the song we've had together for years. We had never played it together like this in person and it was super special. She has a very gigantic, beautiful, spectacular show, and I also love her very much as a friend of hers. It was very special.
Isabela Raygoza:
Fat is the name of your album. I think it's an amazing and catchy name, don't you? Tell me why Fat?What is the history?
Nathy Peluso:
This album took a lot of time and stages of my life, searching for what I wanted to say. In the end, it all showed on this album. And I wanted the title to come alone. It had no title. I made the whole album without the title.
