The LOX had their turn a Tiny Desk concert on NPR, and Hip-Hop fans are absolutely loving it if reactions on social media are any indication.
Yonkers' three-headed rap monster Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P showed up with a live band, and there was no denying it was fire (see: Verzuz). Over 30 years (you're all) in the game means the former Bad Boy and Ruff Ryders MC's are just as comfortable with the live musicians as they are with their DJ, Technician The DJ, who was also on hand.
Our only beef was that the limited time meant a limited set list, and the LOX have a deep catalog of hits, whether singles or fan-favorite albums. Nevertheless, they achieved major breakthroughs, either from the group (“Money, Power & Respect”) or their solo hits such as “Good Times” and “We Gonna Make It” by Styles and Kiss, respectively. And no, “The Benjamins” did not enter the chat, for obvious reasons.
