The judicial chaos in Young Thug / YSL the process continues. The judge who was just appointed to the case has also resigned.
As spotted on Rolling Stone Magazine the trial will likely face even more delays. Earlier this week, Judge Ural Glanville was removed due to a private meeting he hosted with prosecutors and a state witness.
The defendant's lawyers were not invited to the meeting, raising concerns that Glanville was not impartial. Glanville was immediately replaced by Judge Shakura L. Ingram, but on Wednesday, July 17, she voluntarily recused herself from the case, admitting to an affair with her former deputy on the court.
“Because the former appointed deputy of this court could be called as a witness in any future proceedings in this case, the court may be called upon to assess the credibility of this congresswoman or rule on matters related to her criminal prosecution.” Ingram wrote in the deposition in recusing herself.
“This can undermine public confidence in the impartiality of the proceedings. The clerk of this court is directed to assign this criminal action to another judge.” Akeiba Stanley, the former court deputy, was romantically involved with one of the co-defendants in the case. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution states that Stanley would visit Christian Eppinger in his cell and conspire with his relatives to smuggle him.
Judge Paige Reese Whitaker is now assigned to the Young Thug / YSL RICO Trial.
