Challenging you to face life offline, ToMix is back with a new single, “Deal With Reality (Broke My Phone).”
This pulsating house song is a dark but energetic descent into the dystopia of today's technology-addicted society. Crashing into the underground dance scene like a broken smartphone against the pavement, the rising producer has created an unlikely anthem for those caught between the dream of a virtual escape and crash landing in the real world.
Driven by the jagged lyrics, “Damn, I broke my phone, now I have to deal with reality,” the song pulses with the same chaotic energy as nighttime streetlights flickering over shattered screens. That lyrical grenade sounds like the punchline to a cosmic joke as ToMix's relentless basslines and gloomy synths blend beautifully like the pixels on those cracked screens: erratic but hypnotic.
Out now on Tchami's revered Confession label, the track is part of a new compilation, Disco Records Vol. 5. That album includes songs by Loge21, Control Room, Chuwe and Myles O'Neal, among others.
