Travis Kelce has his head in the game as the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens this weekend.
During a Chiefs press conference Friday, Kelce answered a question about his relationship with Taylor Swift and said they work together to ignore the headlines and talk surrounding their relationship. “The one thing we've talked about is that as long as we're happy we can't hear anything that's outside noise,” he said.
Kelce also said he had reflected with his brother on the “challenges” that arose from the public nature of their relationship. “There are certain things in life that give you challenges and you just have to be thankful that you're challenged, because not everyone has those opportunities,” he said, before adding, “I've brought it on myself and I'm enjoying it. I'm having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building.”
During Wednesday's podcast episode, New Heights, and without going into great detail, Kelce recalled the nasty comments aimed at the team and fans booing Taylor Swift, who regularly attends games while dating Kelce for a few months. But instead of engaging, Kelce threw up a heart symbol with his hands.
“Yeah man, he had to spread the love, baby. You always gotta spread that love, baby,” Kelce told his brother, Jason Kelce. Swift is known for flashing her hands while performing her song “Fearless” live as a sweet gesture to fans.
“I just wanted to make sure [they] he knew it wasn't mutual,” he added. “I don't hate you like you hate us. It's all love, baby.”
Last year, in an interview with year, Swift spoke briefly about the backlash her presence at Chiefs games has caused. “I don't know how they know which suite I'm in. There's a camera, half a mile away, and you don't know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is on you, so I don't know if they're showing me 17 times or once,” she said. Swift. “I'm there to support Travis. I'm not conscious of being shown too much and pissing off some dads, Brands and Chands.”
