Travis Scott was arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida, early this morning (June 20), according to online records. The rapper, born Jacques Bermon Webster II, was booked for trespassing after a warning and disorderly intoxication. He posted $650 bond and is expected to be released from jail.
According to an arrest report obtained by Pitchfork, officers responded to a disturbance on a yacht docked at a Miami Beach marina. Officers wrote that they saw Scott yelling at people on the yacht. They also said they “could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from [Scott’s] breathing.”
Officers said they spoke with Scott and a complainant, the latter of whom did not want to press charges against the rapper since he left the yacht. Scott complied, the officers wrote, but as he left, he “walked backwards yelling obscenities at the ship's occupants.”
Scott returned to the marina just five minutes after leaving the facility, the officers wrote, “ignoring officers' orders not to go.” After speaking more with officers, Scott “once again began yelling erratically disturbing the tranquility of the residents of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance,” according to the report.
Scott was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and admitted to drinking alcohol, apparently saying, “It's Miami.”
On X, Scott posted, “Lol.” Pitchfork has reached out to Travis Scott's representatives for additional comment and information about the incident.
