These days it's rare for fans to get a behind-the-scenes look at how an album is made. Tyler is old enough to remember when MTV and VH1 used to put out profiles and mini-documentaries on some of the biggest artists in the world, and he's been adamant about artists talking about their creative process more often.
It was expressed both in a 2023 interview with Nardwuar where the rapper and producer seemed disillusioned with the current music media landscape. “We're at a point where a musician you know about music is interviewed on a platform about music and talks in detail about music and people say 'why does he keep doing that?'” he said. “But if I was here gossiping, talking about beef, and so on, people would feed on it. No, we need to get back to talking about music… Talk about your album, talk about your music.”
