Victoria Monét puts her own legendary spin on Christmas classics on her new holiday album, A Jaguar II Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements, which was released Wednesday (December 11) via Lovett Music and RCA Records.
The eight-track project reimagines her fan favorites, including the Grammy-nominated hits “On My Mama” and “How Does It Make You Feel” from her critically acclaimed debut album Jaguar II as instrumental pieces and pairs them with timeless holiday jingles like “Let It Snow” and “Carol of the Bells.” A Jaguar II Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements It was directed by Maurice “Pirahnahead” Herd and played by his Soulchestra in Detroit.
“A gift from me to you (and a family gift for the kids, I promise)!!! I hope this fills you and your family with much needed holiday and Christmas spirit!” Monét wrote to X Wednesday.
The albums come four years (to date) later A Jaguar Christmas: The Orchestral Arrangements, who transformed “Moment,” “We Might Even Be Falling in Love,” “Touch Me” and other tracks from his 2020 EP, Jaguar, in Christmas carols.
Originally released Jaguar II on August 25, 2023, and the 11-track project reached No. 22 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 60 on the Billboard 200. The LP won two Grammys this year for best R&B album and best non-classical album, while the R&B singer-songwriter also took home the coveted Big Four trophy for best new artist.
