The WAEVE, composed of Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall, today announced the release of a new single titled “City Lights” which is available now on Transgressive Records.
A year after The WAEVE's acclaimed self-titled debut album, City Lights is the first single taken from their soon-to-be-announced second album. Written by Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall, and produced by James Ford, City Lights features Graham and Rose on vocals, as well as keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and saxophone.
Speaking about the new song, Graham and Rose said: “The lights of the city grant a unique magic to everyone – the beautiful and the grotesque, the angels and the demons – bright and seductive, each and every one… Who wants to love you and who wants to destroy you?”
With the release of their acclaimed self-titled debut album in February 2023, The WAEVE established themselves as a songwriting partnership to watch. Now, after a year of touring and studio sessions, The WAEVE are back with a song that illustrates the evolution of their collaborative musicality, allowing this meeting of musical minds to further push the boundaries of their individual creativity.
The WAEVE will play a sold-out show at London's Hoxton Hall this Friday 3rd May ahead of a series of live dates this summer, including supporting Elbow's UK tour which kicks off on 7th May in Brighton; as well as a series of festival dates across the country.
