Warner Chappell Music has struck a deal to co-manage the majority of the music library of Analog Metaverse, a rights management company founded by producer-songwriter Hello Remy. The release list is based on Remi's track list, including his debut singles Amy Winehouse and Miguelrespectively, and one of Alicia KeysThe best-known songs, as well as works by songwriters Dennis Brown, Don Blackman, Bobby “Digital” Dixon and Terri Walker.
Remi co-wrote and produced much of Winehouse's 2003 debut, Sincereincluding her debut single 'Stronger Than Me', which won an Ivor Novello Award in 2004 and produced around half of the late neo-soul icon's 2006 global hit Back to black. She also got in on Miguel's ground floor, co-writing and producing his lead single “All I Want Is You,” which featured J. Coleand notably co-wrote and co-produced Keys' 2012 hit 'Girl on Fire'.
Analog Metaverse said its catalog includes more than 2,000 songs, though it's unclear how many are included in this joint management deal. The financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. Remi's team at Analog Metaverse includes; Kwame Kandekore as head of legal and business affairs and Josephine Westphalvp rights and administration.
“I have known Salam personally for more than three decades and it is a great honor to be entrusted not only with his life's work, but also with the work of legends like Dennis Brown,” said co-chairman and CEO Guy Moot. “Karianna [Marshall, WCM Co-Chair/COO] And I'm very intentional about the lists we work with and really think about how we can grow and take care of them, both today and for years to come.”
Moot said he felt “a lot of synergy” between WCM's approach to asset management and Analog Megaverse's mission – “it's great to join forces to help authors and their assets reach their full potential.”
Remy added, “Having the advantage of being a songwriter and publisher myself, I fully understand the importance of having partners who not only appreciate the great creations of icons from past generations, but can also help us carry them into the future.”
The Analog Metaverse pair follows WCM Publishing's deal with Tom Petty's estate to cover the “vast majority of songs” in the late artist's catalog.
