The Killers took over The O2 in London on Wednesday night (July 10), and the rock band got to treat their English fans to a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
In videos circulating on social media, the band can be seen stopping their show to broadcast the end of England's semi-final match against Holland for UEFA Euro 2024. As England took victory by a score of 2-1, red and white confetti were fired into the crowd at the O2 to celebrate and the Killers launched into one of their biggest hits, 'Mr. Brightside.”
England will now go into their second successive European Championship final and face Spain on Sunday (July 14).
The Killers, meanwhile, will host a series of special residency shows in Las Vegas later this summer. The band consisting of vocalist Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic debut album. hot mess, performing the entire record for the first time during their residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Hot mess, released in 2004, yielded the hit singles “Mr. Brightside', 'Somebody Told Me', 'All These Things That I've Done' and 'Smile Like You Mean It'. The album peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart upon its release.
