This year's Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin has a slew of killer acts sure to rock attendees at what's billed as the biggest rock and camping event in the US. The -acre site will play host to headliners Jelly Roll, Shinedown and Thirty Seconds to Mars this year, but if you're planning on going out with your favorite hard rock bands, you'll have to slow down.
According to a list of improvements for the seventh edition of the festival, the new rules this year include one that will curb hardcore dancing and the flickering, high-kicking style of moshing. An Instagram post from organizers of the July 18-20 festival on Tuesday explained that while the gathering has “held back on moshing” in the past to ensure the safety of attendees, in a nod to the popularity of the sometimes bruising mosh pit experience, is by creating certain defined areas of air punching and kicking.
“In the past, we have held back on moshing at 'Rock Fest' to ensure everyone's safety, which is our top priority. We know, however, that moshing is a vital part of the rockers' release and metal experience for many of you, we've heard your feedback and are excited to introduce a moshing area on the Budweiser Boneyard Stage as a pilot program,” the post. reading; at press time the organizers had not returned Advertising signHis request for additional information about the new moshing rules, which some commentators thought might be an April Fool's prank.
“This allows us to embrace the energy of moshing while maintaining a safe environment for all festival goers,” organizers continued. “We are creating designated zones for both moshers and non-mossers, ensuring everyone can enjoy the show up close. please note, for everyone's safety, no hardcore dance style flail moshing will be allowed. Let's rock responsibly, look out for our brothers and sisters and make this an unforgettable addition to Rock Fest 2024!”
Other improvements this year include: locker rentals, mocktail drink options, early bird camping, power upgrades at the Heathen's Hwy campground, more hammocks, more themed days and more shaded areas.
