Yotto and AVIRA have joined forces to release “Forget,” a melodic house masterclass that captures the paradoxical pain and liberation of letting go.
Out now on Yotto's Odd One Out label, the song features an aching vocal performance from ALSO ASTIR. His lyrics viscerally evoke the suffocating grip of persistent attachment, likening it to physical shackles that restrict the soul: “Your heart will enslave me / With necklaces on my wrists.” Then his pleas of “let me forget our time” cut like a knife, severing those emotional chains.
But Yotto and AVIRA's haunting production provides a soundtrack to those harrowing memories that return, only to give way to transcendent, expansive refrains: the mind finally escapes its ghost. As the song progresses, it fills with anthemic grandeur and ultimately offers a deep yet danceable exploration of how letting go is both brutal and restorative.
