21 Savage has been giving back to his community for nearly a decade through his Leading By Example Foundation.
During the 8th annual Issa Back to School Drive over the weekend, the Atlanta rapper teamed up with the nonprofit Wealthy Habits to launch a digital financial literacy workbook titled Master Your Money: Financial Success 101 Guide with 21 Savage. Approximately 3,000 children and parents were present to receive essential back-to-school supplies and physical copies of the workbook. Some of the tips include short-term goals like saving for emergencies and vacations, as well as ways to pay off small debt. Long-term goals include advice on retirement planning, home buying and education.
Master your money it also includes 'SMART' goals, which should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. The workbook provides tips on spending wisely, investing early, managing risk, budgeting, and helping kids understand how credit works.
This isn't the first time 21 has tried to help with financial literacy. Back in 2018, he created the 21 Savage Bank Account program with Get Schooled. The program helped with jobs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and introduced an online training program.
For his efforts in DeKalb County over the years, Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson and DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson honored the rapper by declaring August 4th the 21st Wild Day.
21 was honored by the state of Georgia with December 21 being declared 21 Savage Day in 2022 during its Holiday Grant-a-Wish, and Fulton County said Dec. 10 21 Savage Appreciation Day in 2023.
