The 2024 Billboard Latin Women in Music event honored eight powerful and admirable mujeres in the industry, including Gloria Estefan, who received the legend award. Ana Bárbara, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. and La India, which received the pioneer award.
This year's Woman of the Year was Karol G — who was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to her Mañana Será Bonito European tour, but sent a heartfelt and inspiring message to her colleagues and viewers back home.
“To the women who have collaborated with me on my music, to those who have been involved in my projects, to all the women at home who are listening to me and who are also a part of all this success,” she said during her film. acceptance speech. “What a beautiful way to celebrate women, their work, their commitment, their discipline, their dedication, who we are as people. Luis Figueroa's Empowered Playlist
At Sunday night's event, Luis Figueroa not only presented La India with her pioneer award, but also took on the role of Marc Anthony to star alongside the artist in the 1994 salsa hit “Vivir Lo Nuestro.” Backstage, Figueroa revealed that La India, along with Elena Rose and Karol G, are some of the female artists he has on his playlist. “Kany García also makes me cry, so I have her on the bottom – so I can save my tears,” said the pioneering salsa artist. “I am also inspired by them. Kali Uchis unveils new music
