50 Cent has settled in a myriad of lawsuits throughout his career, and those lawyers are expensive. The G-Unit boss pulled up Million Dollaz worth game on Sunday (September 1), where he revealed that he has spent an astronomical $24 million on legal fees alone in his career, according to his estimates.
“I've spent $24 million in my career so far. I can't wait to be rich,” he joked. “For lawyers only. I've spent $24 million in my career on legal fees.”
The TV and film mogul said that when he is frustrated with a situation, he will respond with lawsuits to thwart the opposition purely for “entertainment purposes.” “When I am disturbed, I will send the king's lawyers,” he said.
50 revealed that he's keeping general counsel on deck, but doesn't have a manager taking a percentage of his empire because he's seen every kind of business deal already in the industry.
“I have a general counsel. I don't have a manager,” he continued. “Why do I need you to manage me? I have done every deal 100 times that I would do for myself as a music artist. Why do I need you to do this? Everyone wants to work for a percentage and you want a percentage from me? You didn't build it, I built it.”
The Queens rapper went on to say that he has developed management companies to help artists navigate the industry and learn the tricks of the trade with someone they trust.
“I will even develop management companies to help the artist,” added the 50. “I will say eat what you kill. Do you know who they put in as manager? Someone they trust. Someone who won't steal your king's money.'
Even more than two decades into his career, 50 remains tied up in lawsuits. 50 — born Curtis Jackson — filed a civil lawsuit in January over an incident from the summer of 2023 in which video captured the moment he threw a microphone to the side of a stage while performing, allegedly causing a Los Angeles radio host to suffer “ serious and permanent injuries.”
Then in May, 50 Cent filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex Daphne Joy over her public accusations that he physically abused her. He called the allegations – which he denied and said were “unequivocally false” – a “calculated attack” designed to destroy his reputation.
