Beyonce: Cowboy Carter [Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia]
Beyoncé returns with act two of The Promise Renaissance trilogy. Cowboy Carter blends country, folk, blues and gospel to take a modern look at the roots of pop and R&B. Willie Nelson's Outlaw Country, and covers of Dolly Parton's “Jolene” and The Beatles' “Blackbird” support the album's exploration of her musical origins and our culture. Meanwhile, additional guest spots from Miley Cyrus, Post Malone and “Buckle Bunny” singer Tanner Adell help bring the album into the present day.
