Sophie Ellis-Bextor is set to release Murder on the Dancefloor on vinyl after it appeared in Saltburn.
The British singer’s 2001 track is currently number two in the U.K. singles chart after being featured in the comedy/thriller Saltburn, which was released in November.
Sophie is now preparing to release Murder on the Dancefloor on vinyl for the first time as a result of the pop-disco song’s sudden resurgence.
The hit song will be available on a limited edition red 7-inch vinyl as well as a limited edition red CD single.
In an interview with BBC News earlier this month, the hitmaker shared her thoughts on the track’s comeback.
“It actually feels really magical. And if I’m honest, I don’t think I’ve completely processed it really,” the 44-year-old said. “It’s extraordinary. It’s a song I’ve been singing for over 20 years, I still love singing it.”
She added, “But for new people to be discovering it, for it to be making new memories with people is kind of beautiful.”
The song, which originally appeared on the singer’s debut album Read My Lips, peaked at number two in the U.K. singles chart in 2001. The song has now returned to the U.K. charts and has entered the Billboard 100 for the first time.
The limited edition vinyl and CD will be released on 16 February.
