Amber Bain (aka The Japanese House) recently visited the NPR offices for a Tiny Desk concert, during which the June 2023 CoSign alum performed highlights from her fantastic sophomore effort. In the end it always is.
The British singer-songwriter marked her appearance on Tiny Desk by changing some of the synth sounds on In the end for soft, spacious arrangements with brushed drums and a violin, occasionally aided by resonant piano and baritone sax sounds.
The set began with an intimate and simple version of “Sunshine Baby,” before moving into a performance of “Baby Goes Again.” A quick tuning of his guitar led into the keyboard tune “Over There,” before concluding the set with the album’s single “Boyhood.” As the concert came to an end, Bain's “thank you” to the audience was barely audible amid loud applause.

Later this month, The Japanese House will play a headlining show in Japan, followed by a series of UK dates supporting The 1975. They'll then return to the road this spring, making festival appearances at Coachella , Bonnaroo and Hinterland. .
