Snoop and 50 Cent “take care of their own” by giving cash to impoverished rap icons.
The hip-hop legend, 52, revealed he and fellow rapper 50 Cent share a policy of giving back to artists whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse.
“You’ve got to take care of your own, you’ve got to set an example,” Snoop told the hosts of podcast All the Smoke.
“That’s who we are, that’s who me and 50 is. I can’t speak for everybody else, but if any O.G. that me and him respect – it’s happened a couple of times.”
It’s the first time the Doggfather artist has spoken publicly of his charitable efforts, with the rapper revealing he and 50 Cent prefer to keep their giving on the down-low.
He declined to name any of the recipients of their largesse. “We do it privately,” he said.
“I’ve done it many years with some of the artists that needed help, that needed physical and financial help. It’s not a public thing for me. I’m not going to say, ‘I helped him.’”
