Bassist Matt “Piggy D.” Montgomery has announced her departure from Rob Zombie's band after being a fixture in his lineup for nearly two decades.
The news comes just one day after Zombie announced his co-headlining of the 2024 “Freaks on Parade Tour” with Alice Cooper, with support from Ministry and Filter.
UPDATE: Rob Zombie has announced the return of Rob “Blasko” Nicholson to the lineup. Get all the details here.
Montgomery did not give a specific reason for this departure in a private Instagram post (as seen below via Talkative), simply saying: “Dear friends: My time with Zombie has come to an end. It was an honor to entertain you for the past 18 years. I look to the future and wish you all the best. Peace and Love, Matt Montgomery aka Count D., Piggy D., Giggles.”
Piggy's departure is especially shocking considering Zombie just lost his guitarist John 5 when the latter left the band at the end of 2022 to replace Mick Mars in Mötley Crüe.
Montgomery is Rob Zombie's longest-serving bassist, having joined the band in 2006 as a replacement for Blasko, who left to join Ozzy Osbourne's band at the time.
