Not many could have had T-Pain defend the honor of Elmo on the 2024 bingo card, but here we are. The “buy U a Drank” rapper-singer defended Elmo after the Sesame Street it was basic attacked the Today performance by actor-comedian Larry David on Thursday (February 1).
“I know I didn't just watch my man @elmo get attacked on live TV,” T-Pain wrote on X.
Soon after, the Florida-bred artist offered to support Elmo if needed. “@Elmo just say the word,” she added in one Post to Instagram Story.
Elmo went viral on X earlier this week when he simply asked how everyone was doing and received a series of negative responses. T-Pain cleverly responded by quoting some of the lyrics from his 2007 anthem “Bartender.”
“I'm just looking for someone to talk to and show me some love, if you know what I mean.” he replied at Elmo on Monday (January 29).
After it went viral, Elmo and his father Mr. Louie did Today show on Thursday (Feb. 1), which was crashed by Larry David, who was also on the show to promote its final season Curb your enthusiasm.
“Get back on the couch and let's talk about how you feel,” Elmo told David after the actor-comedian's face. A show host added: “Larry, you're overdoing it this time.”
While it finally ended apologizing on set to Elmo, David didn't express much regret about the fight with him Sesame Street character, as he said Late Night with Seth Myers: “And you know what? I'd do it again!”
