The Xbox community is in a bit of a tailspin after several leaks over the weekend suggest a major change is coming when it comes to the company's “exclusive” titles.
Multiple references from The lip, XboxEraand Giant bomb Jeff Grubb claim that the Xbox will put exclusive titles such as Bethesda editions, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Starfieldand even Gears of War are coming to PlayStation 5, adding a lot of fuel to those Xbox cross-platform fires.
According The Verge's A source close to Bethesda reportedly told the outlet that MachineGames, which is owned by Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media, is “considering” releasing the upcoming Indiana Jones game on the PS5 console after its release on PC and Xbox Series X/S in 2024.
We got our first look Indiana Jones and the Great Circle during the recent Developer_Direct presentation, and met with some mixed reactions, with some excited about the game and others believing the game will be first-person.
Per of XboxEra report, Starfield, the massive Xbox exclusive, is also coming to PlayStation 5, reportedly sometime after the release of the Shattered Space DLC. The site also claims that Microsoft has invested in more PlayStation 5 developer kits to make the interstellar RPG's jump to the PS5.
“The other one that I've heard that's definitely under consideration — it doesn't mean it's going to happen, but it's in discussions — is Gears of War,” Grubb said on a recent episode of Mess Mornings game.
Other games like live service pirate adventure Sea of Thieves and the surprise of Tango Gamework Hi-Fi Rush They are also rumored to be switching from Xbox consoles to PS5.
As you can imagine, the news sent the Xbox community on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption Spaces, I'm not an Xbox fanboy anymore.
We are serious. Well-known Xbox enthusiast Tim Dogg started it and we visited and it was A LOT, to say the least.
Phil Spencer hears you
Hilariously, while all this was happening, Xbox boss Phil Spencer was playing happily Diablo IVaccording to Tim Dog, but he finally broke his silence on Monday, February 5th.
In a Spencer-like response, wrote to X:
“We listen and we hear you. We're planning a business briefing next week where we can't wait to share more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.”
Aman.
He honestly needs to say something now, but we'll just have to be patient and wait for Phil.
Justified anger or just an overreaction?
Until that day comes, and Phil breaks the news that many Xbox fans have been dreading, there's been a lot of reaction, some hilarious, also quite delusional.
Are these reactions to this news justified? We guess. Listen, we get it. Some people buy these consoles because of brand loyalty and love the idea that you can have specific titles on them.
Believe it or not, some gamers bought a PS4 or PS5 because they want to play exclusives like Marvel's Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawnthe God of War.
Xbox console owners were hoping to get the same thing, and listening to games they used in their arguments to support their consoles, they are now likely headed to the competitor.
Then some don't care where they play their games. they want a machine that can work for them flawlessly.
But if this news is accurate, it looks like Xbox is flying the white flag, and understandably, people who ran out and bought the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles are now giving them the ultimate side-eye.
We'll see if there's any truth to these reports next week when Phil Spencer talks about it. until then, you can see more reactions in the gallery below.
