Aesop's Rock has announced a reissue of his classic 2002 EP Daylightcomes March 29 from Rhymesayers Entertainment on vinyl, cassetteand CD forms. The original tracklist for Daylight EP boasted seven songs (plus one hidden track, making a total of eight) that collectively featured production from EL-P, Brickand Aesop's Rock himself, as well as a guest verse from Draft. The full EP was originally only available on CD and digital formats, with the vinyl shortened to a three-song 12″ single. The new reissue features completed eight songs on vinyl for the first timepressed on two-tone side A/B effect orange & blue vinyl to complement the original artwork.
Originally released in 2002, the Daylight EPwas its sequel Aesop's Rockhas been acclaimed by critics Labor Days album, a cult classic released just six months ago. The EP was built around its self-titled opening track, “Daylight”, a track that stands out from Labor Days which remained one of Aesop's most beloved works and continued to expand on the breadth and depth of his multi-talented writing and production gifts. In addition to the title track, Daylight EP it also included his resistance, “Night light', an alternative version in the sense of which the paraphrased lyrics allude to and stand in stark contrast to the original, delivered in a darker, more menacing production. Extending this contrast, a limited vinyl variant called 'Night Light' will be available for purchase, featuring tri-colour (blue, silver & black) galaxy vinyl, housed in a stamped and numbered jacket.
