Keane announces all the details of his upcoming special remastered version of Hopes and fearsundoubtedly one of the best debut albums of all time, on May 10, exactly 20 years after its initial release.
The band is also hitting the road this year to embark on a full world tour. The UK and Ireland dates include two huge and extremely special shows at London's O2 Arena on May 10 and 11. Final tickets for The O2 London will go on sale February 21 HERE. Support comes from The Lathums across the UK and The Sherlocks in Dublin and mainland Europe.
This 20th anniversary celebration release includes a special version of the original album remastered and recorded by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, as well as featuring previously unreleased B-sides, demos and rarities. The 5.1 Dolby Atmos mixes come from David Kosten.

On the same day as the box set's release, the band plays the first of two shows at the London 02 Arena as part of a world tour on April 1 in Mexico City before hitting Europe and the UK. Their US tour in September includes prestigious dates at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Radio City Music Hall in New York City. More dates will be announced.
Keane recently took their live show to India and South Africa, playing in these countries for the first time and demonstrating the band's growing demand around the world. They were joined on stage in Mumbai by Anoushka Shankar to play a special version of 'Everybody's Changing' – watch here.
'Hopes and Fears' was a landmark album for Keane and he has set all sorts of records in the process. It is one of the biggest-selling albums in UK chart history, having sold over 2.5 million in the UK in its first year and one million in the US, boosted by its absolutely classic song ' Somewhere Only We Know'. 'Hopes and Fears' is 9 times platinum in the UK, a remarkable achievement. The album has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
Keane emerged alongside a new vanguard of bands that would change the shape of music: Snow Patrol, Scissor sisters, the Killers and Coldplay. They were the first to create a sound that revolved solely around keyboards, enhancing the emotional appeal of their songs. 'Everybody's Changing' from 'Hopes and Fears' became a fan favorite and a top five hit.
In 2004, Keane was the best-selling British artist in the United Kingdom. The following year they won two BRIT Awards: Best British Album for 'Hopes and Fears' and the British Breakthrough Act award voted for by Radio 1 listeners.
'Somewhere Only We Know' has enjoyed a recent resurgence on Tik Tok, going viral in Asia, sparking a global revival of the song, which is currently clocking up over two million streams on Spotify per day, and on In the last 12 months it has become Island Records' best-selling single. In total, it has been streamed more than a billion times.

This year's tour will celebrate Keane's acclaimed work from his imperious debut 'Hopes and Fears' to his 2019 studio album, 'Cause and Effect'.
Singer Tom Chaplin says: “I remember standing next to that amazing old mixing board at Heliocentric Studios where we did Hopes and Fears, listening to an early mix of Somewhere Only We Know. I had a feeling we had come up with something that had a little more magic to it. Making music is often a process full of doubts… but on this occasion there was something undeniable in what we had created. Clearly a lot of people felt the same way when the album came out!
Founding band member and songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley said: “When I think about these songs, I still imagine ourselves playing them in small pub rooms across the UK. I remember how exciting it was to see the crowd start to grow.
